The Tower
Life always starts at the ground. We see very little from where we’re standing at. Babies are incredibly intelligent and not experienced at all. They know that they’re about to “climb up”, yet they still don’t know how. It’s like they are in the base of this high tower with round stairs.
Our curiosity drives us to climb up this imaginary staircase. We are not sure what’s on top, but we do know that “up” is the only way for us.
Once in a while, there’s a window on the wall through which we see farther and farther away as we climb our way up. The older we get, the broader our perspective becomes. We see more extensive parts of the reality that we were born into. We explore our world. We just have to look out the windows!
As we go higher and we see farther, the cloudier our view becomes. Sometimes we have to call out to people, who are still lower in the staircase to receive a more detailed view of a part of the world. Towards the end of the staircase, representing our life, the world becomes so small. The things “down there” seem already so small and insignificant. We ask ourselves why they even bothered us at all, but we don’t forget that we still have people in our tower, climbing up the same staircase as us. They matter the most.
When we are so high above, that we barely see the Earth anymore, we turn our heads upwards. We are now at the top of our tower. The door shuts closed behind us and locks. We spend the rest of the Eternity on that balcony we just entered, with a view towards the stars and beautiful nebulae. Eventually, the people climbing behind also come through the one-way door, sit quietly next to us to share the view. Nothing bothers us any more.
We are at eternal peace.
